After cooking a feast of fish for the men the next morning, Airibells pushed the raft out past the surf. Then she practiced hovering over it and plucking the ropes tied to the 4 corners for her to carry it by. This was only for her practice, because the raft and the men would be enclosed inside the net for their trip.
After an hour of practice carefully picking the raft out of the water she flew off with it. She flew high into the currents to carry her out to the sunken ship. When she saw it with her telescopic vision, she circled down to set the raft gently on the waves. Then she dove in and collected 2 more barrels in her front talons. Shooting to the surface she leaped into the air. Hovering over the raft she plucked the ropes up in her hind talons and away she flew to the island on the high currents again.
She landed well before sunset again. Riding the high wind currents was easy. Sometimes they were so strong that all she had to do was set her wing and soar.
For the next 4 days this was her daily pattern. On the 5th morning after breakfast the men spread the net out on the beach. Airibells picked up the heavy raft and set it in the middle of the net. Next, the men pulled the draw rope tight, until the top opening of the net was half the size of the raft. This way the netting wouldn't fall away when the raft was resting in the water, but the men could still climb in and out.
